🌄 Brunch With a View: Longmont Supply Brings Families to the Rooftop

Great food, mountain views & a kids' menu make this new Longmont rooftop worth the elevator ride

There’s something about eating on a rooftop that makes brunch feel a little more special, especially when that rooftop comes with Colorado mountain views, a beautiful space, creative cocktails and, thankfully for parents, a kids’ menu.

We recently headed to Longmont Supply, the new rooftop restaurant on top of Hotel Longmont in downtown Longmont, for a Sunday brunch with my kids.

And while “rooftop restaurant” may initially sound more date night than family outing, we found it to be a surprisingly easy place to bring the whole crew.

🏔️ A New View From Downtown Longmont

Located on the fifth floor of the newly opened Hotel Longmont, Longmont Supply overlooks downtown with views stretching toward Longs Peak and the Flatirons.

The restaurant itself is beautiful. Huge windows bring in tons of light and let you enjoy the views from inside, while the outdoor rooftop space is definitely where I’d want to be on a perfect Colorado day.

I also really appreciated the attention to detail throughout the space. While everything feels fresh and modern, there are thoughtful touches that give a nod to the history and character of the building.

🍳 Sunday Brunch, MacKID Style

We visited on a beautiful Sunday morning for brunch, which is served until 2 p.m.

I started with a mocha before taking our bartender’s recommendation and trying the Strawberry Fields Gimlet. For brunch, I went with the Mountain Cristo, their take on a Monte Cristo with cinnamon crème fraîche French toast, ham, smoked gouda and apple-cinnamon glaze.

My teenage daughters went in completely different directions, with one choosing the Summit Breakfast Sandwichand the other a Grilled Cheese.

And then there was my 6-year-old, who happily ordered lemonade and a “Cherry Temple,” otherwise known to the rest of us as a Shirley Temple. 😂

We were also happy to find the Lil Mountaineers menu for younger kids. He chose the Egg Plate with scrambled eggs, a hash brown patty and bacon or sausage. There are several other familiar kid options too, which is always appreciated when you're eating somewhere a little nicer with a younger child.

🤤 Whatever You Order, Get the Cinnamon Roll

We also ordered Grandma Phyllis’s Famous Cinnamon Roll for the table, and this was one everyone agreed on.

Made fresh daily with Palisade apple and cinnamon filling and topped with sweet cream vanilla icing, it disappeared pretty quickly.

I’d absolutely order it again. And maybe not share as much next time.

🌱 A Taste of Colorado

One of the things that makes Longmont Supply a little different is its focus on seasonal ingredients and Colorado farms and purveyors.

The menu has plenty of recognizable favorites, while the lunch and dinner offerings get a little more adventurous with options like Front Range Game Sliders, Pulled Duck Sandwiches and Bone-In Bison Ribeye. There are also vegetarian and gluten-friendly options throughout the menus.

It makes the restaurant easy to picture for a few different occasions. I’d bring the kids back, but I could just as easily see coming here for a girls' brunch or date night, especially when the rooftop is open.

🏨 Staying at Hotel Longmont

Longmont Supply sits atop the new Hotel Longmont, the city's first boutique hotel with 84 rooms and suites.

For families, I think the biggest draw is honestly the location. You're right on Main Street in downtown Longmont, close to restaurants, shops and plenty to do with kids, while Boulder and Rocky Mountain National Park are within easy reach.

The hotel also has double-queen accommodations, and having a restaurant upstairs is certainly convenient when you're traveling with kids and don't necessarily want to pile everyone back into the car for another meal.

❤️ The MacKID Take

What I liked most about Longmont Supply was that it felt like somewhere I genuinely wanted to have brunch, but bringing my kids along didn't feel like an afterthought.

My teenagers found things they wanted, my youngest had his own menu, I got to enjoy a really good cocktail and a more interesting brunch than my usual eggs and coffee, and we all got to sit together in a beautiful space overlooking Longmont.
